One of my favorite cartoons from "The Far Side" (and dayum, I miss "the Far Side") goes like this: The scene is obviously Hell. In the foreground, there are inmates toiling away with pick axes for all hellish eternity, sweating and looking miserable. Except for one guy in the middle of it all with a wheelbarrow who is whistling away and smiling and all happy and sh*t.
In the background, there are two overlord demons, complete with horns and pitchforks, obviously supervising the inmates. In deference to the happy worker-bee, one of the the demons says to the other: "You know, we're just not reaching that guy."
The current ecomony = Hell. Happy worker guy oblivious to it all = Petersheim. Demons = Petersheim's detractors.
Keep whistling and smiling and doing your thing. It may be hell out there, but you're building little pieces of heaven.
Okay, I just gotta throw this out there...

Amen.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Your business, while far smaller than The New York Times, seems to be doing a lot better than theirs.
